Weekend recap.

Another weekend has come and gone. As usual, I can't help wondering how I spent my time because the weekend just flies by. Thats what my weekend recaps are for, a chance to reflect.

Friday I went out with some people I don't normally hang out with, Nicole, the guy she's dating and their friends. We went out to Rodizio for dinner. Now, I'm not a huge fan of eating most meat. I'm not a vegetarian, I'm just a picky eater. My first experience with Rodizio wasn't great so I wasn't thrilled that thats where we were going to eat. However, this time was much better, no pink chicken!

After playing Wii at Chaz's house, we went to the Sky Bar because it was one of their friend's last night working there. Chaz caught me in the eye with corner of a menu and now there is a cut on my eyelid! The best part was the token old-guy-loner that was asking everyone to dance. He even offered $5 for a dance! We all had a good time dancing, despite the fact that I wore the absolute wrong shoes for dancing. My feet were dying by the end of the night, but Phil was a good sport and gave me a piggy back. So Friday was a pretty fun night.

Saturday, my friend Rosa and I went downtown to mess around with her new camera. Her camera is awesome, I totally want one. We had a fun little photoshoot and got some pretty good photos out of it. Here are a few pictures from the shoot. See the rest here.

After the photoshoot, I went to my dad's to catch up on some TV on DVR. I'm not going to lie, I love watching TV. Between three jobs and personal stuff, I don't have a lot of time for it these days. So on the weekends when Lisa's kids are away with their dad, I have to go spend a few hours watching all of my shows. I finally got to watch The Office, ANTM, Lost and Ghosthunters. For some blasted reason, the DVR didn't get One Tree Hill or Grey's Anatomy. Sad, but I have little time to dwell on it. Back home, Traci and I had a little mini girls night with some good snacks and watched a movie.

Sunday, Traci and I had a little shopping adventure. First we went to get pedicures, thats always a relaxing time. Then we visited two malls and shopped the day away. I got a lot of fun stuff for the spring and summer. I'm so thrilled that the weather is warming up so that I can start wearing it. I tried to add most of it to Kaboodle, so feel free to check out my list of things that I have. Also, I was incapable of deciding on sandals to buy, so help me choose by voting here.

My weekend definitely went by too fast, can't wait for the next!

Weekend recap.

What a weekend. My entire life changed.

Friday I got to do a friend's hair and makeup for her. Thats always kind of fun. Then I went shopping with Suzi, thats always a fun time. Then I went home and got my heart and life ripped to shreds but Sean's evil twin. Traci came home and brought me some Gatorade which I thought was brilliant.

I couldn't sleep very well so I woke up bright and early on saturday. I talked to my mom for a bit. Once I managed to get out of bed and shower, I went to my dad's. I talked to my stepmom for a while, and that helped me out a bit. Then I became overcome with exhaustion and went to take a nap for a bit. After I woke up, I went to Happy Sumo and then shopping with Suzi. She is such an absolute doll. What a great friend. Later I went to a late dinner with my siblings, Amy and Jacquie. That turned out to be a nice distraction. Then after finding out Sean is an even bigger jerk than I ever could've possibly imagined, I went home and took a sleeping pill then passed out.

The sleeping pill turned out to be bad news because it made me sleep through my alarm and miss my work meeting at panty heaven/hell. I watched a trashy movie about breakup that made me feel better for a bit. Then after chatting with Traci for a bit, I sat down and watched the ANTM marathon on MTV. I had seen that cycle way too many times so I ended up falling asleep some more. After that, I went to my dad's for Randall's birthday dinner. There were so many people there, yet I managed to fall asleep once again. Crying that much sure takes a lot out of you. Dinner with the fam was nice. After that, I went home and watched Juno with Traci.

That was my crazy, life-changing, eventful weekend.
Hope you enjoyed my recap of it.

My train of though - The Office

The following are my thoughts while watching NBC's The Office.
Episode - Dinner Party

Aw, poor Dwight! You almost feel bad for him, then you remember how obnoxious he is...
Oh, how I love Jim/John!
He sleeps on a bench!? haha
Wow, look at the size of that TV! Intense!
Angela kills me! (I can still tell that actress is pregnant...)
Ah hahaha! Afterbirth....
Jim didn't even stand up when Jan tried to dance with him. SO funny.
The bathroom confessional is awesome.
Aw, escape was so close...
What the...? Michael told Jan that he dated Pam?!
Dwight shows up wine glasses!? haha Who is that lady?
He dips it into the wine! haha
He sure showed her by putting that neon sign up.
That is some serious, hardcore self destruction.
No!! Not the Dundie and the $200 plasma screen TV!!
Babe. haha
Yep, I still love Jim.

My ANTM thoughts

These girls are vicious!
Oh Lauren! Who knew she could talk that much, right?
Why do they have to scream every time they see Tyra?
Really? Do they need to wear those terrible outfits?
Poor Lauren. I love her awkwardness...
I so guessed it was Nigel.
How great for Anya.
I didn't know there was a Mormon on ANTM! I wonder if she is the first?
Those three are kinda being catty, but I still love them.
I love that Lauren can't walk in heels. SO funny!
What a challenge for Claire. Unfortunately I don't think she pulled it off fully.
Lauren seemed less shy at panel, but not strong enough.
Fatima is so fake!
Wow, Claire's face when Dominique's name got called was so funny!
Aimee had to know Claire wasn't going home. Claire was weak this week, but she's to strong not to make it to the finals. Poor Aimee

I still love
Claire
Whitney
Lauren
and Katarzyna.

...and then there were 8.

My ANTM thoughts

I never saw last week's ANTM, but I guess I didn't miss too much. Oh well.

That argument with Whitney and Dominique was absolutely nuts! I was blown away when Dominique pulled the race card because clearly it had nothing to do with their argument to that point.

I HATE Fatima and Marvita. I'm glad Marvita finally went home. How funny was it though, when Fatima was cocky enough to think she was going to get airbrushed? That hairy pit made me pretty much roll off the couch with laughter. Too funny!

My top faves model wannabes to this point are:

Claire

Lauren

Whitney

Another TV show review from me.

I was about to go to bed last night when Traci turned on a show that caught my attention.
Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew
I had never heard of it before, even though they were down to the last four "crews", but it was dancing so I sat down and watched it with her. The dancing was incredible. I was in awe at the way they could move they're bodies. I don't really know any men that feel comfortable enough with themselves to dance like that, but they're obviously out there.

They have the typical hosts and three judges calling the shots. Let me give you a line up in case you don't watch the show. For hosts we've got Mario Lopez, Layla Kayleigh and DJ Rashida. The judges are JC Chasez, Shane Sparks and Lil' Mama. What does Randy Jackson do on the show you might wonder? Oh, yeah, me too. He doesn't even appear on the show. Try to figure that one out...

Mario Lopez, can't stand him. He's so uncomfortably fake its embarrassing.

I've never heard of this Layla Kayleigh, but I feel bad for her. It seems her wardrobe stylists think that its attractive to push her breasts up so that her cleavage meets her neck. It looks terrible.

JC, JC, JC... What can I say? I think he wants to be the Simon Cowell of the bunch. He's real negative, nothing is good enough for him it seems. Just stop rambling on already.

I've never heard of this guy, but I cannot stand the way he talks. Every other word is "ya'll". He's trying so hard to sound "street" that its a wonder he can even manage to form a sentence per minute. I'll never understand when and how it became uncool to enunciate and pronounce words properly.

Ah, Lil Mama. We have a similar problem with this one. Her speech is also littered with so much slang that its not only is it hard to comprehend, its also hard to take her seriously. Where did she even come from because I've never heard of her.

The dancing is incredible though. It might be enough to make me over look the hosts and the judges and try to catch the remaining episodes.

Ji Yeon - My thoughts

Okay I kept a log of my thoughts and reactions while I watched Lost tonight. If you haven't watched it, don't read this, THERE ARE SPOILERS!!

My reactions:
Why was Regina's book upside down?
Yay! To Sun being off the island.
I love Daniel. haha
Something crazy must happen that gets these 6 particular people off the island.
What is up with the panda? Sheesh! Angry Jin!
Why would Juliet drop that bomb on Jin? Rude!
Nice slap Sun!
The doctor guy is weird and kinda creepy.
Why did Regina commit suicide?
What the crap does Ben have to do with everything the captain said?
Having all these questions "answered" is making me feel like the answers aren't truthful.
We all knew it was coming and now its finally confirmed, Michael is on the boat.
Aw, Jin is so cute!
Only been married two months, huh? hmmm....
Dead, alive, dead, alive? Was Jin a flashback or flashforward?
...and my classic Lost thought, "Okay, wait, now I'm confused."

Your thoughts?

Makeovers all around

I finally watched the makeover episode of ANTM last night online. Like most people, one of my favorite parts of ANTM is the makeover episode. Most of the makeovers were pretty great in my opinion, but Tyra is still too self-absorbed and basically nuts. After watching that episode, here are my favorite model wannabes:

Claire - Love her, but I don't love her new makeover so much...

Whitney - I actually agreed with Tyra, I was wondering why they felt the need to cover up her normal sized body.

Katarzyna - Her picture was not so great, but I still like her.

and Lauren - She is totally growing on me. I love to root for the underdog.

Anya is no longer on of my faves. She's kind of blah now. I really don't like Marvita or Fatima. They are both unbelievably rude.

Now I'll be waiting for the next episode to go up online...

Loves me some Lost and ANTM

I got a chance to relax and catch up on a little television tonight.

I watched the new episode of Lost. I wanted to die of laughter when I saw the way Ben checked Juliette out from behind when he was showing her the house.

Too funny. At first, I kind thought they were making Juliette out to be one of the O6, but that wouldn't make sense. Luckily thats not what they were trying to do. The reveal of the Widmore video seemed a little too straightforward, there has got to be more to that particular story.

Also, how terrible was it that Ben revealed his man on the boat to Locke, but not to the audience! I hate that. It was not as great as last week's episode, but interesting nonetheless. I'm glad we're continuing to get more answers to all the mysteries.

I got a chance to watch the first elimination episode on ANTM as well. What an interesting turn of events in the judging room, but I was glad to see it happen. So far my favorite model wannabes are:
Claire

Katarzyna

Whitney

and Anya.

It'll be interesting to see how my opinions change as the weeks progress. Now I just have to wait for this week's episode of ANTM to be put up online so I can see the makeovers.

Thats all the time I had for TV tonight because it is time for bed.

I'm not gonna lie, I think I have an obsession.

Ever since the first time I saw a commercial for the new show "Lost", I've loved it. I remember the chills I got watching the Losties as they heard Danielle's transmission and Charlie asking, "Guys, where are we?" At that commercial break, I ran up the stairs to tell my sister and her friend how much I loved that show. Basically, I've been a huge fan from day one.

During season one, I used to lurk on the abc.com message boards, not really participating, but still being fascinated with the theories that were concocted on those boards. I listened to the podcasts as they came out as well. Seasons 2, I just stuck to watching what was shown on tv, but toward the end of season 3, my obsession began. I started reading up things online again, created a lost group on Kaboodle.com and I now own the first 3 seasons on DVD. I now have some friends and family that watch the show with me so I can discuss the show with them.

The wait for season 4 to begin was agonizingly long. However, in that time I discovered lostpedia.com. I spent days reading information on that website. One thing that really interested me on there was The Lost Experience ARG. I had had no idea that such a thing had gone on, was sad that I missed out on it but was glad for the complete recap on lostpedia.com. Reading up on that led me to discover find815.com halfway through the second week of the game. This game took up those final weeks of waiting for season 4 to begin. During that game, I rediscovered darkufo.blogspot.com which I had only been to a time or two before.

This is where my obsession really gets bad. I read up on lost almost every day. I'm constantly reading articles on lostpedia and I've subscribed to the RSS feed for darkufo's blog. After the new episode airs on thursdays, I'm on lostpedia right away, reading the episode recap and looking for screencaps. I really hope I don't discover more wonderful Lost sites because if I visit one more Lost website on a daily basis, I think this obsession will cross to the unhealthy side, if it hasn't already.
