Highlights of my 2008

The year 2008 is coming to an end. A lot has changed in my life. I've been taking the time to review the past year and I thought that I would share some of the highlights and my favorite moments with you.

Early in 2008, the opportunity to move in with a good friend presented itself, so I took it. I'm thankful for this opportunity, I've since become even closer with Traci and several other people. It was a big change for me, but it has been great living there.

2008 brought a change to my relationship status as well, after nearly two years, I am again single. Break-ups are never fun for anyone involved, but I learned a lot from both my time with him as well as without. I am thankful for every minute of that relationship, but there is also a reason why it's past. Time to move on.

My father got married last spring to a lovely woman. She and her family have been great additions to my life and I'm so happy that my dad found someone that makes him so happy.
friends getting engaged, married and having babies congrats!

Speaking of weddings, I've had the opportunity to attend many friend and family weddings and baby showers. Congrats to all of my loved ones that got engaged, tied the knot or brought a child in to the world. I'm happy for all of you!

2008 awoke some of my dormant hobbies. I spent a lot of this year taking photos, blogging, sewing, making jewelry, playing model, teaching myself about Photoshop and learning about web-design.

A new challenge was presented to me this year in the form of coaching high school cheerleading. Growing up I always thought it would be fun to be a dance teacher or a cheer coach, but as an adult, I just did not see it happening. After judging tryouts for one of my best friends, Wendy, she presented me the offer of assisting her as a coach. Wendy and I are so much alike, I knew that it would be a blast to tackle this challenge alongside her. Oh what a challenge it has been! There may be occasional trials when it comes to coaching 17 teen aged girls, but I wouldn't trade this experience for anything.

During summer 2008, I had the opportunity to go boating and wakeboarding many times. These boating trips included another awesome trip to Lake Powell. I also got a chance to learn how to back up a boat trailer. That was super fun!

Another big part of 2008 for me was saying goodbye to my awesome brother Randall. It's been almost three months since I've seen him and I miss him a lot. He's doing so great though! I love to hear him talk about his mission and I love to see the positive change this has had on him. He's going to be such an awesome man we he gets back!

Not necessarily a highlight, but something worth mentioning is the fact that I was layed-off my job due to the closure of the branch this year. At the time, I didn't really go into much detail and I still don't feel like I can. Marrdy's post on that sad day is a great reflection of my feelings as well. I definitely miss most of the people, but there are some people that I am so glad I do not have to interact with their low-life scum-bag selves ever again. Though it was a jarring thing to lose a job that I had for so long, I'm grateful for the opportunities that this has brought me.
layed-off

Despite negative things happening around the time of my birthday, I managed to have one of the best birthdays of my life so far. Thanks to all the people involved that made it so great for me. I loved having so many people share my day with me.

All that being said, probably the best highlight of this year for me has to be the recent birth of my brand-new niece. I don't even have the words to say how much I love her! I'm so glad she's a part of my life now.

Thank you to all the people that were a part of my 2008, friends and family alike. I love my people!

Hope you all had a great 2008! Looking forward to making 2009 the best one yet!

Weekend recap

I know I'm late and at this point, most people probably don't care what I did this weekend, but for Marrdy's sake I'm gonna update you anyway.

Friday, I had to get off work early to ride the bus down to that night's football game with the squad. I tell you, forty-five minutes on a school bus in rush hour traffic can sure make a person sick. It wasn't too bad though because I had Gossip Girl on my iPod to occupy the time.

When we got to the school, we were walking onto the field and the first thing we see is a gigantic blow up tunnel for the team to go from the building to the field on. When they did finally come on to the field, there was smoke coming out of the entrance and dozens and dozens of balloons let go.

Next, we notice the have an AstroTurf field.

Then, we see a few of their cheerleaders walking down the track dragging big black boxes behind them. I could not for the life of me imagine what they were for. Once the game started, we had the answer.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, they were cheering on top of the boxes. Wendy made a great point when she asked, "Isn't the point of going to a football game to watch the football game? The cheerleaders are just an added bonus that are there to support. Shouldn't the cheerleaders not be blocking the crowd's view of the game?" Those probably aren't her exact words, but I think I summed up her point pretty well.

The entire game my mind was struggling to come up with how this idea was conceived and how anyone could possibly think it was a good idea. The most movement they could do with their feet was the basic step-touch. When they got off the boxes to dance, they struggled with the choreography. Wendy made the observation that they probably aren't used to using their feet when they cheer so maybe that is why they couldn't dance.

To confuse my brain even further, Wendy's sister who is also a high school cheer coach told her that she knew of a school that cheered standing on top of bar stools. I don't know about you, but that just sounds outright dangerous to me.

I think Wendy, in her infinite wisdom, summed it up best when she told me that she was glad that she coached at a school that didn't have much money so that they didn't forget what a football game is really about. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Saturday, I spent some time with my sister at our father's house while I made a necklace.

That evening, Sean and I went to the state fair. As we were walking up to the ticket booth, out of nowhere, this girl handed me two passes to get in. Talk about right place at the right time. We browsed the booths and displays, sampled the array of carnival food and decided against going on any of the rides. I had a great time people watching, state fairs bring out all kinds of people. I had an awesome time there.

After the fair, we browsed up the mall for a bit. I ended up with some cute knee socks and a pair of tights. Can't wait for the weather to cool down now so I can start wearing them

Sunday, Sean and I went out to breakfast. Later, we had Sunday dinner at his house.

I was kind of a slacker with the camera this weekend and have no other pictures to show you. I'm gonna have to try to be better with the photos this week. Also, I picked up my laptop from my brother. We wiped the hard drive, I kind of welcome the clean slate. However, no one can quite remember the password for the internet at my house, so until someone does, I'm still not really able to connect at home. Sadly, this means posts will be scarce from me.

I'll be back soon though, so stick around!
XOXO Adiel

Weekend recap

Wow, life has just kind of gotten away from me lately. I don't even know how I spend my time sometimes.

...that must mean it's time for a weekend recap!

Last weekend was the second football game of the season. The school my cheer girls are from played the high school that Wendy went to and which her sister now coaches cheer at, so it was kind of an exciting game. My girls, flying high from a stellar performance at the school earlier that day, really made me proud out there cheering their team on.

My mom, stepdad and sister came out to support me at the game. I did not plan well for the afternoon plans. Wearing a body-con dress and high heeled mary-janes didn't exactly equal comfortable attire to be climbing bleachers in. As predicted, my mom eyed my hemline and declared it too short. Gotta love my mom. :)

Our team won the game with ease! The season is looking good!

Saturday, I felt the urge to make something so I went out to the fabric store and ended up with some stuff to make some skirts. I finished one skirt late Saturday night. I think I'll be wearing it later this week so watch for that.

Sunday, Sean and I went out for some sushi. I'm not really a fan of seafood in general, but I got brave and tried some of Sean's vegas roll and ended upo really liking it. I was surprised. I just may have to try out some more sushi sometime.

Monday, the cold, wet weather ruined our plans to go to Raging Waters. Instead, Sean and I did some shopping before heading over to his parents' house for a Labor Day barbeque. Most of Sean's siblings were there and we had a good time hanging out and preparing dinner. After dinner, we played several rounds of volleyball in the freakish 50-something degree weather. I was so unbelievably cold! I'd like to blame my poor volleyball skills on that, but I don't think anyone would believe that.

After volleyball, Sean and I went to see Traitor. I had never heard of it till Sean suggested it, but I really ended up liking it. You do have to be in the mood for a serious movie and Sean made that comment that it was slower-paced than he had expected. After I got home from the movie, my night got really wild, but that is a story for another time, so watch for that!

I really enjoyed my long holiday weekend. I'll have to make time to post more often this week because I have a lot to share! Hope you all had a great weekend whether you were celebrating Labor Day or not.

Weekend recap.

I didn't really plan on doing much this weekend after what a long week I had been through. Emotionally and physically exhausted, I had just planned on curling up with Breaking Dawn all weekend and napping as I felt the need.

No such luck!

Sean ended up taking me out to dinner on Friday. We were at a sports bar so we managed to catch part of the opening ceremonies for the Olympics. I thought that their "cheerleaders" were interesting. I call them cheerleaders because it was pretty plain to me that that's what they were supposed to be. I say the pleated skirts were a dead giveaway. I did feel bad for them, step-clapping and spirit fingers for four hours in those boots can't have been fun, Olympics or no. Seeing Kobe Bryant's face on the screen over and over again made me want to throw up a little bit. Not to mention the fact that they were showing other athletes swooning all over him and getting their pictures taken with him. Ugh. Have a little self respect! Also, can someone tell me why everyone was wearing their white berets except for Carlos Boozer? George Bush was cute up there with his little American flag. I think that is it for my opening ceremonies commentary.

Saturday, my cheer girls had their first performance. I thought they did very well at it and I'm super proud of them!

Luckily, the storms took a break while they performed so they weren't rained on. I did get to see some awesome lighting later in the evening however.

Later that night, Sean and I went shoe shopping. Picky Sean couldn't find anything that was satisfactory to him and the mall is generally unsatisfactory for me these days. Everything I want is online! Then we hooked up with Mike and Traci to hang out. We watched a bit of the Olympics, got to See Michael Phelps get his first gold medal of this Olympics. Super exciting! Then Traci and I had our own Wii Olympics. I totally kicked her butt at Wii bowling for the first time, but she beat me at tennis. Mikey made us some delicious pasta and pancakes for a midnight snack.

Sunday, I finally got my wish and was able to finish Breaking Dawn and catch up on sleep.

Weekend recap.

After work on Friday, I had to run some errands. I ended up at Target and decided that storing my shoes in laundry baskets has gotten pretty ridiculous. I was looking for some shelves that I thought might work. They didn't have anything that I loved, but I found some melamine shelves for just $12 so I decided to give them a try. I also tried on a bunch of things from the Go International line and I left with these three items.

I don't know if I love the way the shorts look on me and I don't know what to wear that red top with so they might go back to the store. I love the black top though. I wore it this weekend. I also got a studded belt for only $2.50, I'm going to have to get creative with it though.

When I got home from Target I put together the shoe shelves, but there were a couple problems. My high heels don't fit too well in the allotted space, not all of my shoes fit on the shelves and there isn't really enough room for my clothes to hang and my shelves. See for yourself:
I need more closet space.
Or less clothes and shoes.
If you have any suggestions for my storage problems, let me know.

Later that night, Sean and I met up for dinner and then we went to see the 10:20 showing of The Dark Knight. Wow, that movie brought out the crowds. There were so many people there and we kept running into people that we knew. All I'm going to say about the so I don't spoil it for anyone is that it was long. We didn't get out of the theater till about 1 AM. It was so worth it though.

Saturday, I spent a good portion of the day reading more of The Host. Reading of course led to me falling asleep.

My little brother got his mission call this week. We all went over to my dad's house for him to open it. While we were waiting for everyone to show up, there was a little DDR going on. Randall's girlfriend Jacquie was also taking votes of where he might go. After opening the letter, the news is that Randall will be serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Quito Ecuador mission. He will be leaving October 1st. I'm super proud of my brother and I will be sad to see him leave, but I think its great that he's doing the things he believes in.
[Dance, Dance Revolution!]

[Randall talking to our Mother, who was in Portland for work]

After leaving my dad's, I went with a bunch of my friends down to Keys on Main. It was my first time there and I had a great time. It was nice to just relax and hang out with my friends.
[Christina and I]

[The girls]

[Traci and I]

Sunday, I spent more time reading and nearly finished the Host. Later, Sean and I went down to Gateway for some delicious food at Happy Sumo. After eating, we walked around the mall for a bit. Surprisingly enough, in the hour we spent there, I didn't buy a single thing. I did get to check out a few of the things I've been eyeing online. The only bad thing about this wonderful afternoon is when I got pooped on by a bird, smack dab on top of my head. So gross!

When we got home, we watched The Island. I had never seen that movie before, and despite hearing many bad things about it, I've always wanted to. Turns out, I quite liked it.

That was my weekend. I was kind of lame and didn't get a single full-bodied outfit picture. I'll have to be more diligent with it from now on.

Hope you all had good weekends as well!

Weekend recap

Wow, what an eventful weekend! I hardly had any time at home and no time to catch up on sleep either! Let's get right into it!

Friday, I was going to go with Zach to the REO Speedwagon/Styx concert at Usana, but he ended up having to work too late. Instead, Sean and I went out to dinner. He was craving some Texas Roadhouse, but I wasn't very hungry because I had eaten a huge lunch. We got to the South Towne location a little before 7 PM, but it was already packed. They told us the wait was 45 minutes, but I didn't mind so we put our name on the list and found a seat on some benches at the front door. It was a prime people watching location. Mostly I just picked apart people's outfits in my mind while Sean played his PSP. The wait ended up only being a little over 20 minutes before our number came up on the screen.

This is where the trouble began.

We walked up to the host's booth where there were six employee's standing. Every last one of them was trying to help a guy that had made reservations at the wrong location. Apparently he had a large group he was trying to get seated and didn't understand that there was more than one location. (Duh!) The hosts were going to seat them anyway! I thought that was kind of lame. Meanwhile, Sean and I are just standing there getting ignored and other parties were getting seated while we stood there looking like fools. I was getting pissed and kind of mouthy, so we finally got seated. By the time our server arrived for our drink orders, we had had enough time to decide what we wanted to eat. While waiting for our food, we basically got lap dances from the servers who were doing line dances right up against our table every third song. Not only were the claps and stomps loud and distracting from having an enjoyable time, but who was helping the customers while they were busy getting down with their bad selves? No wonder they were so backed up at getting people seated. After getting our food, we didn't see our server again till she brought us a check. Great service, let me tell you. I'm probably going to resist ever going back there again and you probably shouldn't either.

After dinner, we went down to Jordan Commons to see what movies were playing. There was nothing playing that we wanted to see for a while so we just decided to rent Gladiator because I had never seen it. Funny story, Sean thought of that movie because I was wearing my gladiator sandals that night. Once we got home though, we ended up watching Ocean's Thirteen with Val and Jan. Its was a super fun night.

Saturday, I met Nicole at the pool and hung out there for a few hours. It was so hot, but I loved every minute of it. I got a huge chunk of The Host read. I'm loving it so far! [Nicole and I at the pool]

I took a much needed nap after the pool before I met up with Mike and Traci to head to Scott's birthday party. I had a great time hanging out there even though I was one of the small handful of single, non-parents there. We spent the night at Scott and Kelly's.
[Mike's lip gloss is popping!]

[Traci and I]

[A picture of the boys]

[Upside down!]

I woke up to Traci trying to swat a fly with a bug zapper about a foot from my face. Let me tell you, thats a very startling way to wake up. We ate McDonalds for breakfast, which was actually very satisfying, and then got ready to head out for Utah Lake. We spent several hours on the lake wakeboarding, tubing and just hanging out. I got the best air I've ever gotten on a wakeboard and nearly cleared the wake. It was utterly thrilling and I was quite proud of myself. On the tube, I was getting tossed around like a rag doll. At one point I was getting bounced so hard and so high that my legs bounced up and my feet hit me in the back of the head. Another time, I was whipped off the tube a rolled across the top of the water a few times before going under. I was laughing so hard, but oh boy does my back, neck and shoulders hurt today! I also have a little bit of a sunburn today!

After I got home, Sean came over and we actually watched Gladiator. I didn't see the whole thing because I was so exhausted from the weekend that I kept falling asleep.

That was my weekend!

Just a quick side note to all the people coming over from SITS today. Thanks everyone for the comment love! I hope I get a few subscribers out of today! I will be responding to every comment as quickly as I can. They're coming in so fast though, by the time I woke up this morning, my blackberry had 36 new emails, about 90% of them being blog comments! Already I'm at my highest hit count in the past 30 days, and its only noon!
What a great start, right?

4th of July 3-Day-Weekend Recap

My lovely three-day-weekend started out Friday morning with me going to the pool with Steph and Amy. We had a good time, laying out, chatting, eating junk food and cheering for the cute and not cute divers. Steph and Amy left after a couple of hours, but I stayed behind to spend some time reading. After the pool, Sean and I headed over to the Lewin's barbeque to meet up with everyone. Shortly after, we all took off to Sugarhouse for an awesome fireworks show.

[Steph can't wait for the fireworks!]

[Sean and I lounging around, waiting for the show.]

[Steph and I]

[A taste of the fireworks show]

["Moo," said Sean as the 50,000 estimated people headed back to their cars]

I had a really delicious tiger's blood Snowie and did some people watching while we waited. Once the fireworks started, we discovered our spot was not such a good pick as the fireworks were behind a tree. We had to scramble for a new place to watch. I ended up getting real itchy from the grass and got a mosquito bite on my earlobe! Despite the road closures all over Sugarhouse, we were able to make it to the freeway in 20 minutes time. I was super glad that we decided to go there for fireworks.

Saturday, Sean and I hung out all morning, goofed off and wasted the morning away. After he left, I read my book some more and did some highly overdue cleaning of my bedroom. Later, Sean and I went to our favorite, Joy Luck for some dinner and went to see Hancock. Most people that I've talked to say that they thought that movie was just alright, but I really liked it. I guess I'm easy to please.

Sunday, I decided to laze around a bit more and read all morning. I finally finished my book! After that, I spent a fantastically relaxing day around the house.

That about sums it up!
Make sure to check out the shoutout box and the new poll that I added on the right. Maybe you should vote then leave a shoutout!

Weekend recap, and then some.

Life has been pretty hectic for me. I haven't really had a free moment to sit down in front of the computer lately.

Last week was cheer camp for the squad that I'm the assistant coach of. It was decided that a private camp would be best for our squad this year. That took a lot of planning on Wendy's part, I'm completely amazed at her ability to pull something like this together. It went extremely well I think, I don't have anything like it to compare it to. We had several people come in a do stunting, tumbling and dance workshops. All of them were so great! We made it past the few bumps that generally arise in any cheer squad at camp. We made it through an ankle injury. I got through all the bad hip-hop they had to dance to and I also choreographed for the first time in like four years. The girls learned so much and I'm super proud of them. Can't wait to see whats to come from them throughout the rest of the year. Also, all you parents out there, I had a tiny taste of knowing what its like to have a teenager. I had twelve of them! Crazy!
[Belting out "I Want You" by Savage Garden on Singstar]

[Stunting, I miss doing it...]

[Learning a hip hop dance]

[The whole squad]

The weekend was pretty basic for me. Sean and I went out to dinner Friday night and ended up hanging out with Traci, Mike and Traci's family.

Saturday, I went to get my nails done and ended up getting a pedicure. I proceeded to mess it up as I got in the car to go to the pool. Leave it to me to do something lame like that. After the pool, Sean and I hung out. We watched Untraceable. Seriously, who thinks up this sick crap. Better question, why do I watch it? So gross!

Sunday, Sean and I went to The Original Pancake House. I love their food, so yummy. After that, I proceeded to read, fall asleep, and repeat. Three times. I guess I needed to catch up on some sleep considering I haven't been getting much lately. Once I finally got out of bed, Sean and I went to dinner at the Macaroni Grill. Funny story, we ordered fried mozzarella for our appetizer. When they brought our appetizer out, I thought it was strange that it came in little rings. I ate a piece anyway. I thought the texture and the taste seemed very off, but I wasn't sure so I had another. As I'm chewing the second piece, the waitress walked by and realized that someone had brought fried CALAMARI to our table instead of cheese. It all made sense, I knew that I knew that taste and it brought my right back to Mrs. Grossaint's biology class where she made us taste the fried squid we had just dissected. The best part was the look on Sean's face when he realized what he was eating. It was beyond hilarious, it made my whole weekend!

I've been pretty backed up at work with all the time I took off for cheer camp, the new responsibilities I've been having to learn and month end. I've been pretty tired after work and not been able to find time to get on the computer. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to catch up with all my blogging friends and see what they've been up to in the last two weeks!

Weekend recap.

I can't believe the weekend is over, it basically just flew by!

Friday, Sean helped me chop wood for something I'd be making later in the weekend. Later, he and I went out to dinner and a movie. We saw the Incredible Hulk. For a long time, the theater was pretty empty and there weren't any other females in there. Midway through the trailers, more people came in and I wasn't the only woman in the theater anymore. The movie was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be. I liked the little tie-in at the end, but I won't say what with so that people can be surprised when they see it.

Saturday, I went boating with my dad, Lisa, and Steph. We went to Utah Lake for the first time. We each had a turn on the wakeboard and then we decided to go anchor off for lunch. We ended up on the west side of the lake and came across a wakeboarding competition. It was pretty cool to watch all the stuff those people could do. Sean joined up with us after lunch. I wasn't fully impressed with Utah Lake, we all agree that there was something about the waves and the wind made it extremely hard to wakeboard. It was so exhausting to be on the wakeboard on that lake. Also, the marina is a complete unorganized mess. I'm not sure how I felt about it. I'll have to give it another try before I form an opinion. Here is a picture I took of my dad before my camera batteries died.

After boating, Sean and I met up with Mike and Traci. We were hanging out in Mike's backyard with his dad, picking peas off the plant and eating them. Mike and Sean convinced me to try doing back a back handspring on the tramp. I tried, but I couldn't do it anymore. I haven't tried for about four years, and now I've got a mental block about it. After that, we went to get some ice cream on the way to South Jordan's Country Fest to watch fireworks.
Fireworks

[Sean and I making awesome faces]

[Traci and Mike looking normal]

After the fireworks, Traci and I wanted to ride some of the carnival rides. Traci and I convinced Mike to go with us on the Inverter, but Sean opted out, which was fine with me because that way Sean could hold my purse and take this picture of us. After that, all four of us went on this ride that was similar to the Screamer at Lagoon. At first, we were spinning forwards, and it was mildly fun. Then they switched directions so that we were spinning backwards. Not a good idea. Sean and I got so sick. It was the first time that I had ever thought that I might not make it to the end of the ride without throwing up. I thought for sure that I was gonna be that person that barfs on the ride and it flies everywhere. Luckily I made it off the ride and ended up not getting sick at all, although the motion sickness didn't go away for quite sometime. Next, Traci wanted to win a goldfish, but sadly left empty handed. When we went back to Mike's, his parents were watching some crazy killer alligator movie. It was nuts! I was so tired from the previous week that I ended up falling asleep and missing the end. What a shame.

Sunday, I had to get everything ready for cheer camp. I ran errands and made preparations all day long until it was time to head up to my mom's for Sunday dinner. My cousin Melody was there, along with my brothers' girlfriends. I decided to make a spirit stick for camp so I finished it up at my mom's. Here she is holding the stick that I made.
My mom holding the spirit stick I made
After dinner we had my mom's delicious enchilada's, chatted and played Wackee 6. My sister and I left around 9:30 pm. About a mile after we got on the freeway, we ran into a traffic jam that was at a dead stop. After a few phone calls, we discovered that the freeway was down to one lane in Kaysville for construction. It took 45 minutes to get from point A to point B.

By the time we got to point B, they were opening it back up to three lanes. It took a total of an hour and forty-five minutes to get home. It was a crappy end to my weekend, but this week should be fun with cheer camp and all.

Weekend recap

Weekend recap time!

Friday after work, Nicole and I hit up the mall before meeting up with Chaz and Phillip. I had to return a dress and ended up leaving with two clutches and another dress. After the mall, Nicole and I met up with the guys and went to dinner at Famous Dave's.

After dinner, we played Mario Kart on Wii for a bit. Let me just tell you, every time I play Wii, I want one more and more. Then we walked to Gateway to watch a movie. I was wearing my new-ish gladiator sandals and let me tell you, it was not fun to walk those few blocks it took to get there. Phil ended up having to carry me part of the way, what a good sport.

Saturday, I was supposed to go boating, but being irrational in my half-awake and overly tired state, I for some reason decided not to go. When I finally woke up in the late morning I regretted that decision. Craving some sun, I decided to go out to pool by myself. I ended having a really relaxing few hours laying out in the sun reading. The only down side was that I forgot my iPod and ended up having to listen to the pool's music.

Driving home after the pool, I decided that I needed a pedicure so I stopped at this place called V-J Nails & Spa. This lady named Ann gave me the best pedicure that I've ever received. It was so amazing that I want to start going to that place to get my nails done as well.

That night Sean and I went to our favorite dining spot, Joy Luck. The service and the food was great, as usual! Following dinner, we went to see The Happening because we're pretty big fans of Mark Wahlberg. Lets just say I was less than impressed. I'll be real honest though, I did get scared quite a bit. I'm just not a fan of all the gore and the ending. I'll leave it at that for people that haven't seen it and still want to.

Sunday, Adam, Steph and I had to do our last minute Father's Day gift shopping. We spent some time walking around the mall and I ate a yummy chocolate dipped strawberry from Godiva. We wrapped my dad's gifts with cutouts from a golf magazine. I got a picture of it that I'll have to upload when I get my camera back, I left it at my dad's.

Dinner was delicious, everyone brought something so there was loads of food. I'm pretty sure I ate my weight's worth of food. Lisa's parents, brother and his wife came over for dinner and after we all played Apples to Apples. It was a pretty loud game, but lots of fun. I went home and went to bed by 9pm and I still felt full!

All in all, a great weekend. How about you?

Weekend recap.

Another weekend, come and gone!

Friday after work, I had to go find a dress to wear to Steph's wedding. I headed for the Gateway and started out at Forever 21. I actually ended up finding a lot of stuff to try on there. I narrowed it down to two dresses (this or that with this belt). I decided on the black dress with the belt, but as I was standing in line, I found another black dress that looked cute. I decided to buy it without trying it on. I left with the two dresses, the belt, a clutch and and a vest.

Next, I went to Urban Outfitters in search of a certain dress. I couldn't seem to find it, but I did walk past a pair of Lux Cigarette Leg gray jeans. I've been wanting to buy a pair for a while now, so I tried them on and ended up getting them. I thought that they were a pair that was on my wishlist, but turns out the pair that I bought aren't available online. I had a hard time deciding on whether or not I should keep them because there was another pair on my wishlist that I really wanted. Just barely today I decided that I will keep them.

After shopping, I met up with Phil. We went out to dinner at The Dodo and then we went to see You Don't Mess With The Zohan. Oh. My. Lame. Honestly, I laughed a little, but most of the time I was shaking my head and rolling my eyes. Really, I could've gone the rest of my life without seeing Adam Sandler thrusting his stuffed crotch that much. It was also way too long. Two hours is pretty long for a comedy, I kept thinking, "Man this is a long movie!" So, yeah, I'd recommend skipping this one.

Saturday, I had to go to the cheer girls' car wash. The weather was alright. It was one of those days that it was warm in the sun, but cold in the shade. Whenever the clouds were covering the sun, it was so cold. I felt bad for the girls because they had to get wet and wash cars. I just sat huddled in my blanket most of the time. They did well though, it was nice to see so many people come out and support them.

That night I went to Steph's wedding reception. It was fun to see people that I don't see on a regular basis and get a chance to chat. The colors were black and red, Steph had picked out these super cute black dresses with white polka dots. They all wore red jewelry and shoes, it was so cute! I didn't have my camera so when I steal pictures from Nicole, I'll post them up for everyone to see.

Sunday, I finally got caught up with the rest of Season 4 of The Office. The finale was awesome. There were a ton of OMG moments, I can't wait for the next season now! Sean and I went for brunch and then we browsed around Cabela's. I found out that they have their own restaurant there, which I found mildly strange. Later, we went to see Iron Man, which I ended up really liking.

Weekend recap.

My original plans for Friday got canceled so I convinced Traci to go to downtown SLC to the Gateway mall. We both got a lot of great stuff. Later, Mike, Traci and I went to Z Tejas. Everything there was great! There was also this super cute waiter there. I totally wanted to hit on him! After that, we went back to Mikey's and showed his mom what we got. She's so great, she just adored everything we showed her. After we came home, we all totally passed out on the couch watching William Shatner's roast on Comedy Central.

Saturday, I woke up at 6:30 AM. No, that's not a typo, my body just decided, "Hey, I know its your one day to sleep in, but I don't care, you don't get to!" I tried a lot of ways to get back to sleep, but didn't feel sleepy again until probably 10AM. After a nap, I went out with Phil for lunch and hung out with him until he had to go to his football game. Next it was Steph's bachelorette party. All of us girls went out to The Spaghetti Factory for dinner, then we went out for dancing. It was super fun.

Sunday, I was super lazy. I finally got a chance to get caught up with Lost. Wow, that show is so incredible. I love every minute of it! Later, Sean came over and we watched Batman Begins.

That was my weekend. Hope yours was great as well!

Weekend recap.

Friday I decided I couldn't watch the Jazz game. Too much stress. Glad I didn't because it sounds like it was a heartbreaker. *tear*
Instead, I went out and about with a friend.
Here are a few pictures of me on friday night.

Yeah, I'm hot

A more normal face...

I'm sporting the O-gloss and O-glow here...
Can you tell? What do ya think?

Saturday, Steph and I went shopping in preparation for Lake Powell. Later we met up with Suzi and Aline to get pedicures.

After pedicures, Suzi, Aline and I went shopping. I got a pair of denim shorts from Express, let me tell you these are the first pair I've purchased since I was probably 16. Suzi had her daughter there and I ended up holding her a lot. All I have to say is you people with kids must have buff arms. She's pretty much 25 lbs of dead weight when asleep!

Saturday night I got dinner and watched a movie with a friend. Cafe Rio is now open till 11 on the weekends. I'll bet you didn't know that, because when we went there after ten, no one was there! We were the only ones.

Sunday morning I had a craving for IHOP, random, I know. So we went out to "breakfast" at 1pm. I'm a sucker for their stuffed french toast. Yum!

Traci and her family got back from Hawaii Sunday morning so I got to catch up with all of them. I'm no longer all alone in that big house and now the dogs can have more attention, because lets face it, I don't give them what they need. Traci brought me back a cute little pineapple keychain, it was very nice of her. It was also nice to have someone to go for a run with that night.

Also, just in case you were wondering, I challenged "Bob" to buy some new shoes this weekend. He did not. I guess he needs some more encouragement.

Weekend recap.

Another weekend has come and gone. As usual, I can't help wondering how I spent my time because the weekend just flies by. Thats what my weekend recaps are for, a chance to reflect.

Friday I went out with some people I don't normally hang out with, Nicole, the guy she's dating and their friends. We went out to Rodizio for dinner. Now, I'm not a huge fan of eating most meat. I'm not a vegetarian, I'm just a picky eater. My first experience with Rodizio wasn't great so I wasn't thrilled that thats where we were going to eat. However, this time was much better, no pink chicken!

After playing Wii at Chaz's house, we went to the Sky Bar because it was one of their friend's last night working there. Chaz caught me in the eye with corner of a menu and now there is a cut on my eyelid! The best part was the token old-guy-loner that was asking everyone to dance. He even offered $5 for a dance! We all had a good time dancing, despite the fact that I wore the absolute wrong shoes for dancing. My feet were dying by the end of the night, but Phil was a good sport and gave me a piggy back. So Friday was a pretty fun night.

Saturday, my friend Rosa and I went downtown to mess around with her new camera. Her camera is awesome, I totally want one. We had a fun little photoshoot and got some pretty good photos out of it. Here are a few pictures from the shoot. See the rest here.

After the photoshoot, I went to my dad's to catch up on some TV on DVR. I'm not going to lie, I love watching TV. Between three jobs and personal stuff, I don't have a lot of time for it these days. So on the weekends when Lisa's kids are away with their dad, I have to go spend a few hours watching all of my shows. I finally got to watch The Office, ANTM, Lost and Ghosthunters. For some blasted reason, the DVR didn't get One Tree Hill or Grey's Anatomy. Sad, but I have little time to dwell on it. Back home, Traci and I had a little mini girls night with some good snacks and watched a movie.

Sunday, Traci and I had a little shopping adventure. First we went to get pedicures, thats always a relaxing time. Then we visited two malls and shopped the day away. I got a lot of fun stuff for the spring and summer. I'm so thrilled that the weather is warming up so that I can start wearing it. I tried to add most of it to Kaboodle, so feel free to check out my list of things that I have. Also, I was incapable of deciding on sandals to buy, so help me choose by voting here.

My weekend definitely went by too fast, can't wait for the next!
